As many of you may have noticed, we’ve had a few service interruptions this past week. Don’t fret though, because we are alive and kicking. A good way to stay informed is to follow us on twitter or sign up for our mailing list.

Enough with all that though. On to what we’ve been reading about this week.

There’s been a lot of talk around Paracinema headquarters about this “new” Star Wars that seems to be on the horizon. I did a little clicking around and came across this. I have so many opinions about this article, and most of them aren’t very positive, but I’ll just let ya’ll read it and keep my mouth shut regarding who should (or shouldn’t) direct the new films.
I say Joe Wright. What?

My good friend did a write up of a film titled Joy from 1977. The original title was The Female Rapists. I can sincerely say that this sounds like the most intriguing premise I’ve ever heard of. (Penises ahoy, so NSFW.)

I’m linking to this because if I don’t include at least one post from MNPP a week, something, er, bad will happen. Let’s take this opportunity to talk about Ben Whishaw. I fell head over heels in love with him in Cloud Atlas. Swooning aside, he’s a tremendous talent. Although he certainly isn’t showcased in Skyfall, he’s a sassy and charming Q. He’s most definitely one to watch.

Paracinema pal Scott Fivelson contacted me recently about his new project, Near Myth: The Oskar Knight Story. Fivelson describes it as “A life and times chronicle of one of our greatest directors.”

I could almost hear you all wondering why I hadn’t mentioned Days of Future Past yet in this post. You should follow Bryan Singer on twitter because he’s mentioned it once or twice and it’s really all I have to get me through the next 600+ days.
