Here’s a picture from the Evil Dead remake. I don’t really care about this movie. But a lot of people seem to (good and bad). Do you?

Speaking of asking questions… Did anyone see The Girl? I have not, no. But I am happy it’s aired. The constant Hitch bashing based solely on Tippi’s version of things (accusations?) was getting a little tiring. This review is good though.

Oh, NYCC, I’m still sad I missed you this year. I take solace in the recap over at MNPP.

Phantom of the Paradise is an amazing film. The soundtrack remains not just one of my favorite Paul Williams scores, but one of my favorites period. Andreas articulates many of my feelings in this amazing piece.

Apparently filming on Mad Max isn’t going smoothly. I’m actually super excited for it, and think it has the potential to be great. Here’s hoping everything comes together in the end.

Reading about Cloud Atlas makes me want to see it more. That doesn’t usually happen. But since this is a film without a traditional narrative, reading production details isn’t its undoing. The trailer made me cry. So…

Yea, I already linked to the wonderful Andreas in this post, but this is a Twilight Zone write-up! And you have to go and read it. Now.

I can’t seem to get excited for the Evil Dead remake. I think some of that is probably the fact that it’s a remake, but I’m also willing to acknowledge that my interest in Evil Dead is more tied to my high school love of the movies; that I probably wouldn’t enjoy them as much without the nostalgia factor, and this new movie has no nostalgia factor. If any of that makes sense!

    I was with you guys fully in being in the non-interested camp, but I have to admit the red band trailer that they recently released increased my interest for this flick quite a bit. Now granted I think we’ve all been screwed over by flashy trailers before but I think the original premise behind Evil Dead could work with an updated look. Still not sure if I’ll see it but at the very least I’m interested at this point.
    
    Now if they try to remake Army of Darkness, then we’re gonna have problems.
