If you gaze to your right slightly, you will see Loma Lynda listed under our “friends”. This of course was done as a way of saying “hey, check this out”. Well, this is a slightly more obvious way of us saying “hey, check this out”.

Loma Lynda is, put simply, a band. But this “band” is taking on the lofty task of creating a full length film. I have had the extreme pleasure of seeing the 40 minute screener of “The Red Door”, and I am floored. I need as many people as humanly possible to see this film. You can go to the site or their myspace to see clips.Once it is publicly available I will most definitely let everyone within the sound of my voice know. Until then, let me tell you my initial thoughts on what I have seen.

The score is all original and all amazing. The music is haunting and is as important as the story and visuals. Don’t get me wrong, it is stunning in the visual sense. There are beautiful saturated colors; and as polished as it is, it manages to stay raw. The story is complex but I found myself floating along, not really caring how much I truly understood… which is rare for me.

I can’t say enough wonderful things. It’s been a long time since I got this excited about a film. I just want to make other people excited too (I’m a corny broad). Oh, and there are hot girls in it… I know some of you kids dig that.

Loma Lynda is also a hospital. I had an operation there when I was a kid. They’ve got a McDonalds right in the hospital!
